Sir Harold Wilson promoted his book "The Governance of Britain" by autographing copies at WH Smith's in Broadway. A large group of people filed past the table in the basement of the shop, set up for the occasion. Sir Harold found time to sign a few publications smaller than his £5 book, for children who had neither the money or the inclination yet to learn of the inner workings of British Government.

The Great Northern Victoria Hotel, Bradford, is to be offered for sale, it was confirmed last night by the Hotels Executive of British Railways. It is one of several hotels being put on the market by British Railways. Originally the Victoria Hotel, the hotel was built and furnished for £30,000 in 1867.
