The organiser of a shopper bus for pensioners in Cottingley is appealing for help in keeping the service on the road.
Jean Dunford single-handedly resurrected the Cottingley Shopper last year. It was initially set up by Bingley Voluntary Action (BVA) but stopped because of funding problems.
Hired from BVA, the 13-seat bus ferries pensioners every Tuesday to Asda in Shipley. Mrs Dunford and the driver also help them carry their shopping indoors when they return home.
For the past year the cost has been funded by an anonymous benefactor who donated about £800.
Mrs Dunford, 66, of Woodside Avenue, said: "We can take 11 people every week and on average about eight people turn up. If it was full every week that would help with the cost.
"It's a vital service to these people and without it I don't know how they would manage to get their shopping done.
