Further pressure for an extension to the Leeds-Bradford Airport runway has received the full support of the Airport Consultative Committee. A Government report on the future of Britain's airports recommends that they be classified in three groups. The Consultative Committee wants the airport at Yeadon to be bracketed in class "B", with freight aircraft, domestic passenger services and some short haul international flights operating from there.

Over 22,000 scale payment sub-postmasters - 131 of them on Bradford - are to receive an increase in pay of 17 per cent. on their present remuneration by an agreement announced today between the National Federation of Sub-Postmas-ters and the Post Office. The increase will cost £1,350,000 a year.
