Pinning power was the key to a gold medal for young Bradford wrestler Brett Hawthorne.
The ten-year-old, from Eccleshill, floored the opposition at the London Open, including the British and Scottish under-11 champions.
He took first prize in his age group and the 'wrestler of the day' award.
His dad Jimmy Hawthorne, who coaches Brett at the Bradford Olympic Wrestling Club at his Shipley gym, said: "I knew he would do well, but I didn't expect him to pin people so easily.
"He was really pleased and wore his medal to school.
"The London Open is the second most important event after the British Championships.
"I'm expecting big things of him. I'd like him to get a place at an American university so he can wrestle on the US amateur circuit."
Brett, of Lodore Street - a pupil at St Francis' Primary School - came third in the British Championships earlier this year. Brett is pictured with his dad and coach Jimmy.
