COUNCIL houses in Pool-in-Wharfedale are expected to have central heating fitted - but a ward councillor says the area's other tenants are being left out.
Leeds City Council's Executive Board was yesterday expected to approve the installation of central heating in 15 Pool council properties.
But Councillor Graham Kirkland (Lib Dem, Otley and Wharfedale) said he believed many houses in Menston's Church Close, Church Hill Flats, and Park Buildings were still council-owned, but did not have central heating.
He said: "It's welcome but it's a drop in the ocean. We've been pressing this, particularly for the Weston Estate in Otley. But if you build a new housing association house, you have to provide central heating."
Coun Kirkland said many council houses also needed replacement windows.
