The Very Rev. William Hugh Alan Cooper, Provost of Bradford since 1962, is leaving to be assistant to the Bishop of Karachi, Pakistan. He will have special responsibility for the cathedral parish of Karachi. The Provost, who is 66, has been Vicar of Bradford as well as Provost. The Provost expects to go to Pakistan in the New Year.

Bradford Corporation Cleansing Department had an income of £18,155 from the disposal of salvage during the year 1905-51. A total of 1,063 tons of paper was salvaged for which the price was £9,088. Sales of fish meal and kitchen waste totalled £6,509. The Department serviced 109,833 premises, and 4,210,350 dustbins were emptied. Total weight of refuse collected was 86,867 tons.
