Bradford Park Avenue are forced to go into tomorrow's FA Umbro Trophy first round clash at Kendal Town still without club captain Mark Hancock and will also have Dean Calcutt missing as both serve suspensions.
The influential pair will be sorely missed and assistant manager Ian Thompson feels the tie against the Division One side was already too close to call, never mind having to tackle it with a weakened squad.
"The season has started badly so we really need a run in the Trophy to bring everything back to life a bit around the club," said Thompson.
"This is the one national competition that clubs in the UniBond can go all the way in.
"We are the Premier Division team coming up against a side from the lower division but it won't be a cake walk. They have home advantage and will be confident because they have picked up over the last few weeks.
"We have had them watched in a game they drew but should have won so we know what they can do, it is not going to be easy.
"We will have to battle for anything we get from their place.
"Everything points to a banana skin and we have to drum it into the players not to get caught napping."
Central midfielder Hancock sits out the second game of a three-match ban but winger Calcutt misses only one match. Second choice keeper Lutz Phannenstiel will be added to the squad if available as he is currently having trials with Huddersfield Town.
Guiseley are the only one of the three local sides eligible for the competition to have home advantage but they will face a tough afternoon with Dr Martens Premier Division high-flyers Stafford Rangers visiting Nethermoor.
Neil Parsley leads his men into the fray on the back of a four-game winning streak but does have injury worries.
Defender Simon Trevitt played in the midweek UniBond Division One win at Ossett Albion but limped through the game and is doubtful.
The manager says Matt Daly's chances are 'touch and go' but is more optimistic about winger David Cooke.
Reserve keeper Tom Morgan steps up as the game is played under FA competition rules and five substitutes are allowed.
Farsley Celtic journey across the Pennines to take on UniBond Division One rivals Chorley in a Roses clash at the Lancashire side's Victory Park ground.
Midfielder Nigel Smith is ruled out with a hamstring injury and striker Martin Regan is suspended but both defender Simon Brooker and wide man Danny Spence made successful returns to the team in midweek and keep their places.
