A teenage driver had both his arms slashed and his high-powered car stolen in an attack outside a Bradford snooker club.
Detectives were due to interview the 19-year-old victim today after he underwent surgery on his injuries which they described as serious.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened outside the Regal Snooker Club, Norman Lane, Eccleshill, Bradford, around 8.20pm on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim and his friend left the club and got into a red Subaru Impreza and were carrying out a "low speed manoeuvre" in the car park.
As they did, both doors of the vehicle were opened and two other men demanded they got out.
The 19-year-old passenger got out, but the driver was involved in a struggle and he received serious knife injuries to his arms.
The suspects then stole the Impreza, which was traced an hour later to Fearnville Drive in Laisterdyke, Bradford, through an electronic Tracker device concealed in the car.
It was seized and is undergoing forensic tests.
Detective Constable James Smith, Bradford North CID, said: "This was a serious attack where the victim sustained knife wounds to both his arms. He hasn't left the hospital since the attack and was due to be operated on last night. We will interview him when he is fit to be interviewed."
One of the suspects is described as a white man, aged 20 to 30, with a medium build and dark hair. He wore a dark padded jacket. There is no description of the other man.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident or who saw a red L-registered Subaru Impreza being driven from Eccleshill to Laisterdyke or saw the car been abandoned in Fearnville Drive.
