Town Under-16s just had the edge in a thrilling victory over Newcastle Knights -- fighting their way back from 21-12 down in the dying minutes.
Town's attacking flair was always to the fore, but silly mistakes allowed Knights to build a healthy lead. Keighley's late charge, to secure the 28-21 win, included 60 metre breaks by T Kenna for his hat-trick and C Parker.
Other try scorers were S O'Connor and D Barrett, with two conversions by B Carledge, with Barrett and H Burns sharing the man of the match award.
Town Under-16s also secured a comprehensive 78-1 victory over Holmewood Rangers.
Most of the 14 tries came from Town's own half including one from debutant R Fielder. Other scorers were D O'Connor (3), C Parker (3), H Burns, B Cartledge, D Marshall, T Kenna, J Gill with conversions by B Cartledge (10) and H Burns. The man of the match award went to D Paton and H Burns.
