Guiseley face a tough replay at Dr Martens Premier Division Stafford Rangers tomorrow after an unbelievable goalless draw at Nethermoor on Saturday.
After seeing his under-strength defence given a torrid time by the Midlanders, Guiseley boss Neil Parsley will be hoping experienced pair Simon Trevitt and Matt Daly will be available.
The players were in the squad to face Rangers, but failed late fitness tests. The extra three days rest could make all the difference to Trevitt (groin) and Daly (calf), and Parsley will want his strong-est squad for the journey.
The makeshift back four of Guiseley fielded defended well against a strong and wily Rangers side, but it was not all one-way traffic.
The Midlanders had to do their fair share of defending as the home side created a host of opportunities, especially in the second half.
Rangers striker Paul Kiely had a disallowed hat-trick, each being one ruled out for offside. Nick Hey and Phil Sharpe all had early chances for the home side.
Guiseley keeper John Lamb made good saves from Keily, and a Scott Dundas shot was blocked on the line by James Nettleton.
A Keily effort that Lamb could only parry fell for Dundas, but the Rangers man hit the underside of the bar and player manager Parsley hacked it to safety.
Just before the half-hour, Sharpe went down in the area, but the strong appeals for a penalty by the home side were waved away.
The second period brought chances at the same end as it was Guiseley's turn to assert most of the pressure.
Former Bradford City winger Mark Stuart had a left-foot shot saved, and just after the hour had another two chances - a shot and a header - but put both just wide. Dave Henry had a shot saved and David Cooke went close minutes later.
The match seemed destined to remain goalless as both nets led a charmed life.
Five minutes from time, a Stuart shot was parried on the line and the rebound found Sharpe, who turned in a close- range shot that was blocked. And in the last minute Rangers' Dundas screwed a shot wide.
