Bradford Bulls full back Michael Withers, seems certain to make his Great Britain debut against the Australians next Sunday, but it might not be at full back.
He may have to bow to Wigan's Kris Radlinski's greater experience of the position, but coach David Waite seems certain to find a place in his three-quarter line for the free-scoring Withers, who cannot wait to get back in the action.
The Bull star missed the Test against France ten days ago after picking up a slight leg injury in the team's practice match against the Under-21s, and he watched Radlinski edge in front of him in the try-scoring stakes by scoring his 33rd in Agen.
The Australian, nicknamed The Ghost' by his Bulls team-mates for his uncanny ability to appear from nowhere and score tries, grabbed a hat-trick of touchdowns in the Super League Grand Final to make it 32 in just 30 games this year.
"I don't want to be watching again, that's for sure," he said. "I just want to get back out there on the field."
However, Great Britain returned from their five-day warm-weather training camp in La Manga still not knowing whether second rower Adrian Morley will figure in the Ashes series.
The Rugby Football League are still waiting for Sydney Roosters to deliver their verdict on the latest X-rays on their player's broken arm.
