Fly from Yeadon to Athens and Tenerife - that could be the offer being made to West Yorkshire holidaymakers in 1978. The possibility of an even greater holiday programme in two years time is still on the secret list as far as Thomson Holidays are concerned but we gather that the two popular destinations of Athens and Tenerife may be considered a possibility from the Leeds/Bradford Airport.

An odd assortment of articles finds its way to Bradford Cleansing Department each year: witness the following list, culled from the annual report of the director :412 pillows, 88 tables, 55 dressers, 44 overmantles, 243 couches, 290 chairs, 473 beds, 79 what-nots, six cwt. of beef, 300 jars of jam, 4,370 tins of foodstuffs, 1,732 dogs, 150 packets of custard powder, 955 cats, 60 pigs, six sheep, nine rabbits and seven goats.
