City were today joined in training by Greek striker George Nasiopoulous.
Jim Jefferies will cast an eye over the 25-year-old for the next few days before deciding whether to take him on loan until the end of the season.
Jefferies said: "I was tipped off about him by someone who saw him playing in Greece. He is a forward with plenty of pace and the ability to get in behind players.
"We've got the height up front with Ashley Ward and Andy Tod but we haven't got that option to knock the ball over the top and chase. It all needs to be in to feet.
"We'll have a look at him for a few days and if we feel there is something there, we will hopefully sort out a loan."
Jefferies was planning to have a chat with David Wetherall at training today following the defender's talks with Southampton.
The Premiership club came in with a £1.25 million offer for the defender who travelled to the south coast on Friday but did not stay to see Saints lose to Blackburn the following day.
