Greek international George Nasiopoulos will know by the end of the week whether Bradford City will take him on.

The 27-year-old striker, capped four times by his country, trained with the Bantams for the first time yesterday.

Nasiopoulos, who plays for Iraklis, is hoping to be taken on loan until the end of the season if he impresses.

City boss Jim Jefferies said: "We're looking for a bit of pace and he comes with a bit of pedigree.

"We'll have a look at him and see how he does in a practice match among ourselves. But it will be the end of the week before we come to a decision."

The player's agent Nikos Lirakas said: "We haven't tried any other clubs in England yet because we hope that Bradford will take George.

"I spoke with Jim and he was very keen to get George over here. We'll see if things work out in the next few days."

Dunfermline are hoping that City will sign Andy Tod as First Division rivals continue to hover.

Tod's three-month loan at Valley Parade runs out after the Walsall game on November 17 and five other clubs are waiting to pounce.

Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston said today: "A couple of other clubs have asked to be kept informed of developments.

"However, I know from speaking to Andy and his agent that he loves it at Bradford and I'm not sure he would be happy to go to another club.

"Andy has been a good servant to Dunfermline and we want him to be happy. So if we can come to a deal with Bradford then we will do it."

Gareth Whalley missed training again yesterday with the bruised ribs which forced him out of Friday's draw at Crewe.

But David Wetherall was back as normal after his transfer talks with Southampton boss Gordon Strachan.
