CORONATION Street star Danny Cunningham will be in Addingham this Sunday to open a new showroom dedicated to stone tiles.
The actor - better known as Jimmy Sykes in the popular soap - will cut the ribbon at Plan-it-Earth, on Main Street, at 1pm.
Cunningham, who has also starred in Casualty and Soldier, Soldier and will soon appear alongside Steve Coogan in the film 24-Hour Party People, is a lifelong friend of Robert Hall and Julie Nixon, the couple behind Plan-it-Earth.
They decided to set up the showroom when their tiling business flourished after an appearance on Granada TV's Better Homes with Carol Vorderman.
Ms Nixon said: "We went to Birmingham for a week to do the work - fitting a large marbled floor - and we appeared on the TV in July this year. It was a fantastic experience for us both.
"As time went on we were being asked more and more to supply tiles to our customers, so we decided to take the plunge."
Since work began on the showroom, Ms Nixon, of Baildon, said villagers had been eager to find out what was going to replace Palladium Interiors - the store which stood on the same site for more than 30 years.
"We have had to open the doors while working on the showroom to let people in to look as they were knocking on the doors asking to come in. We are getting very positive feedback and the people who have been in to look are amazed at what we are doing because it is so different."
