LOSSES at Skipton-based radio station Fresh AM have risen to more than £700,000 since it went on air.
In the last financial year its losses were £147,432 - but that figure is an improvement on 1999, when the station lost £271,391.
Turnover has almost trebled - up from £116,000 to £319,000 and chairman Chris Parkin said that a further increase was expected during the current year despite difficulties caused by the foot and mouth epidemic.
Mr Parkin said administrative expenses had significantly increased to publicise the station but rigorous monitoring and controls had been brought in to bring costs down to the level of 1999. Mr Parkin told shareholders that the board remained confident of the long-term success of the station.
