Cleckheaton police station is to welcome a new face as the division appoints a new Community Safety Sergeant.
The problems of youths causing a nuisance for residents will be one of the issues Sergeant Russell Kaye, who has 22 years service with the West Yorkshire Police, will be tackling.
Sgt Kaye has returned to the area with a view of improving the quality of life for residents. His role will include resolving local issues and developing contacts and partnerships in the community.
Sgt Kaye, who will be based at Cleckheaton, said: "I am actively striving to ensure I make links with all members of the community and partnership agencies to try and attain my goal of making the Dewsbury Division a safer and more enjoyable place to live.
"In particular, I am intending to focus my attention towards dealing with the problem of youths causing a nuisance and disrupting the quality of life."
Sgt Kaye joined the Force in 1979 when he initially served at Manningham before transferring to Huddersfield. He was promoted Sergeant in 1992 in Batley and Heckmondwike.
He was also Custody Sergeant at Dewsbury for 15 months before transferring to the Communications Division in 1997 and working from Kirklees and Wakefield.
