Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old mini-cab driver in Bradford.

The men, aged 30, 33 and 34, are all from the Leeds Road area of Bradford. They were being questioned today in connection with the fatal shooting of Mohammed Basharat, a father-of-four from Heaton who was killed on October 20.

A police spokesman said: "Inquiries are ongoing.

"The three men were arrested last night at 6.45pm. They are all from the Leeds Road area of Bradford and are being questioned at Bradford Central police station."

The men are also being questioned in relation to the supply of drugs.

Mr Basharat was executed in cold-blood in the offices of Little Horton Private Hire in Holme Top, Bradford.

He was shot once in the head by a gunman and then twice more as he lay dying on the floor.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The incident was believed to have been sparked by a road rage attack the previous day.

According to police he had been involved in a minor road accident with a hired car containing two men in Park Lane.

Mr Basharat arrived at work the next night and was chatting with fellow drivers and operator Loretta Greenwood.

Known affectionately as Bash, shocked workers described how a masked man walked into the doorway of the private hire firm and shot him.
