A family is to hold a tribute concert to remember what would have been the 18th birthday of their son who tragically killed himself.
Richard Turner, a father-of-one, died in August, and his family are holding the concert tomorrow night in a drive to gather sponsorship for a charity close to his heart.
Richard, a former pupil at Oakbank School, Keighley, who would have been 18 on November 5, had planned to run 3,800 miles with his school friend Michael Gaughan along the coastline of Britain to raise money for charity.
He had wanted to raise funds for the special care baby unit at Airedale Hospital after a family member was treated there.
His grandmother Mary Foster, 60, of Ingrow, said: "The special care baby unit was close to Richard's heart because I have had another grandson who had to spend time in it.
"What Michael is doing is amazing. It is something Richard and he had planned to do together and it is for a really good cause. He really needs support to raise money for it and all our close family will be attending. We hope other people will too."
Money raised at the event will go towards the three-month run which Michael intends to do in memory of Richard.
Michael, 17, of Bracken Bank, said: "We planned the trip a year ago. It was Richard's idea to do it together for charity. As he is not here I am going to do it by myself. I am hoping to raise more than £7,000."
Michael plans to set off on the coastal run in January and the charity night will help to raise sponsor money for his trek. The cash will be split between the special care baby unit and a trust for Richard's six-month-old daughter Katie-Leigh.
The concert is at Victor Wardman's club, in Low Mill Lane, Keighley, from 7.30pm tomorrow. Everybody is welcome to attend.
There will be a live band, karaoke and a raffle - prizes for which have been donated by Richard's family.
Anyone who could help Michael with sponsorship should contact the Victor Wardman's on (01535) 603059.
