NEWLY relegated Hewarth took advantage of a weakenedd Albion side as they search for their first victory of the season.
With Chris Hogg out of action after suffering a broken arm, and Jon Gwilliam out with a harsh eight match ban, Albion were going to struggle, but put up some superb early pressure -- and looked the best side for most of the game.
Heworth were first on the scoreboard when a crossfield kick saw winger Gavin Grant outpace the Albion defence to score in the corner.
After Albion pressure failed to find a score they were penalised and once again indiscipline brought a penalty which Dave Carling took advantage of to give the home side a 6-0 lead.
Craig Morphet, Sam Broadley and Steve Wrench were playing out fo their skins in attack and defence for the Keighley side, but they could not get on the scoreboard before the half time whistle.
Soon after th restart the home side clocked up a 12-0 lead with Richard Darling adding a try which was converted by Carling.
Albion piled into the attack and in their best period of the game. Craig Livock added the final touch to a superb move and Chris Kirk added the conversion.
Ben Farrar outpaced the flagging home defence to put Albion back to within two points.
Nathan Witty secured victory for Heworth as Albion's final flourish failed to put points onthe board.
Neil Jordan, playing at full back was Albion's man of the match with Gareth Greenbank and Craig Morphett running him close.
Tomorrow Albion are in action at Crossflatts when they meet Cottingham Tigers (2pm ko).

Albion second string made if five wins ina row with former Cougar Keith Dixon slotting an early penalty.
A John Williams try ws converted by Dixon as the Keighley lads settled into their rhythm.
Tomorrow they play Boothtown Terriers at Highfield.
