The clash between Skipton and Midland had all the makings of a thrilling match of the day.

With Skipton, last year's league and cup winners, taking on Midland who were runners-up, it was expected to be a close dogfight, but the potential firecracker went off like a damp squib.

Rather than a close game it produced the shock result of the season with Midland racing away to a 12-1 victory. Midland scorers were Chris Boardman, Peter Dawson (2), Mark Whitaker, Ric Wade (2), Andy Nelson, Nina Ferrera (2), Ben Dunn, Chris Fothergill.

There were also a host of goals in the match between Wilsden and Cottingley. It was 2-2 at the break and after the restart Wilsden took the lead onlty for Cottingley to equalise. Wilsden took a two-goal lead with Cottingley scoring a late fourth goal, but Wilsden held on for a 5-4 victory.

Andy Carr completed a hat-trick and Andy Carr scored two for Wilsden with Oliver Metcalfe Cottingley's man of the match.

Keihgley United continued their improved form when they played New Inn. They went in at the break with a 2-1 lead and ended the match on a with a 4-3 victory. New Inn scorers were Steve Buckley and Mick Kilroy (2).

Bocking recorded a 4-1 victory at Silsden Athletic. They were leading 2-1 at the break and scored two further goals without reply in the seocnd half. The score would have been much closer but Silsden's Chris Fowler missed a number of chances. Bocking scorers were Gill Merten (2), Andy Nelson and Andrews with Neil Pepper and Chris Fowler on target for Silsden.
