Bronte Wanderers let Grindleton off the hook, allowing the Ribble Valley side to secure a draw after being 5-1 down.

Wanderers must have been dazzled by the chance to move into top spot when they were 5-0 up. They dominated the first half but a Stuart Nicholson own goal gave Grindleton hope.

Dale Robinson, Chris Smith, Nigel Smith, Mark Bingham and Jamie Rowell had all found to target to make it 5-1 to Bronte at half-time.

Grindleton moved Shaun Lloyd from goalie to centre forward with full-back Richard Barrow taking over the goal-keeping role. Goals from Hickling, Chris Carus and Matthew Bibby pulled it back to 5-4 before Hickling scored again. Carus put Griondleton ahead, but Nigel Smith snatched an equaliser with the last kick of the match.

League leaders Skipton LMS found a new scoring hero this week when Steven Morphett found the target four times in a 5-0 defeat of Carleton.

The top-of-the-table game in Division One saw leaders Bronte Wanderers Reserves rally from 2-0 down to rescue a point with a 2-2 draw at Intake. Nick Waring and Mark Roberts put Intake ahead, but the visitors pulled a goal back just before the break with James Ley hitting the target with a free kick.

Bronte drew level through Curtis Hall to take their unbeaten run to eight matches and their lead to six points.

Hellifield Sports also surrendered a 2-0 advantage when they drew 2-2 at home to Barnoldswick United.

Cowling and Colne Shepherds were both looking for a win to push into the promotion race, but they had to settle for a point each from a 2-2 draw. Cowling took the lead early in the second half with a goal from John McCamon. Anthony Wood levelled the scores and Paul Ashworth put Shepherds ahead, but Alasdair McEwen slotted a free kick to secure a draw.

Lothersdale inflicted an 11-0 defeat on Gargrave who are having a torrid time. They conceded five goals in the first-half and six in the second with 16-year-old substitute Liam Jeffreys scoring Lothersdale's last three goals.

Others came from John Hudson, John Baker, Phillip Richardson (2), Andrew Keslinke (2), James Green and an own goal.

Cononley swpt to a 4-1 victory ovefr Embsay with Ewan Scarr, Jonathan Hepworth and Jonathan Roe putting the South Craven side clear. Paul Stott pulled a goal back for the visitors to make it 3-1 at half-time.

Cononley defended well int he second period and a fourth goal from Wayne Fisher wrapped up the victory.

Division Two leaders Oxenhope Recreational Reserves consolidated their place at the top with a 7-3 win over Skipton LMS Reserves. To complete seven wins from 10 games.

It was 2-2 at the break with goals from Andrew Hawkins and Michael Sharp scoring for Oxenhope who took full advantage of the slope in the second half. Goals from Lee Rhodes, David Maw, Lee Wilkinson, Andrew Clements and a second from Sharp put Oxenhope clear.

Waddington extended their unbeaten record in third place with a 2-1 win at home to Grindleton. Matthew Pope and Wayne Bootham giving the home side a 2-0 interval lead and Paul Bretherton replied.

Bradley Reserves when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Skipton Bulldogs Reserves despite Christopher Moralee giving Bradley a 1-0 half-time lead. But goals from Thomas French, Watson and an own goal gave victory to the Skipton side.

Division Three leaders McBrides extended their unbeaten run to seven matches with a 7-2 home win over Intake.

Cowling Reserves maintained their challenge in second place when they won 6-2 at Carleton where the home side finished with only nine men. Ross Boothman completed a hat-trick with other goals from Bob Matthews, Stuart Sugden and Paul Kerrigan.

Cononley Sport Reserves recovered from a 2-0 deficit to beat visitors Pendle Forest 4-2. Lee Athersmith, a regular on the sports pages via his athletic prowess, confirmed his all-round talents with a brace of goals after good work by Simeon Kelly and Daniel Blackburn had put the visitors ahead.

Rob Scarr gave Cononley the lead and an own goal near the end wrapped it up.

Skipton Town Reserves and Hellifield Reserves have both found goals hard to come by at the foot of Division Three, but last week plaued out a 4-4 draw at Engine Shed Lane.

Town must have thought that they were well on their way to their second win of the season when they slipped into a 3-0 lead through Mark Ashton, Geoff Simons and Carl Richardson.

Michael Snape and Liam Preston cut the deficit for Hellifield and they drew level with a second from Snape. Richardson then put his side back infront, but substitute Steven Ward rescued a point with a last-gasp header after a long throw by Dale Denham.
