Northern chief of the British Dental Health Foundation, Mr. Gerry Dobbs, urged children in Bradford to take better care of their teeth. He said the condition of children's teeth was below average in Bradford and that only about three per cent. of youngsters under 12 years were free from dental decay.

Schoolchildren who speak properly should not be called "cissies" - but those whose speech is lazy ought to be outcasts, thinks Mr. Alfred Curry, 36 year old Leeds headmaster. So he encourages the 520 children at Brudenell Secondary School, Leeds, to pull up each other when they speak badly or make grammatical mistakes. Mr. Curry told parents at the school's prize giving last night that he refuses to reply to a pupil until spoken to properly.
