A PACKED annual meeting at Keighley golf Club saw the introduction of a 'new way forward' for the 98-year-old club.
As they prepare to celebrate the club's centenary members agreed to spend thousands of pounds on a new greens drainage system and finalise the extensive bunker refurbishment programme.
At the lively meeting members also agreed a non-course closure policy, drew up a new social event package and agreed to reduce the club joining fee to only £250.
New appointed captain Mike Cooper said: "Our reduction in joining fee has attracted a huge amount of interest from local golfers wishing to play on a quality course. With the number of interviews I have booked over the next fortnight, our optimum membership level should be reached within the next six to eight weeks.
"I believe that the planned course, golfing and social calendar improvements will help maintain Keighley's standing as one of the premier golf clubs within the Bradford Union."
