The owner of a Bradford public relations firm is hoping to serve the business community a slice of the good life with his new culinary venture.
Simon Dunn, principal of Catering Solutions, plans to plug a gap in the market by opening a £100,000 caf bar in the heart of Little Germany this spring.
After spending seven years building his PR business for many of the city's restaurants, the 40-year-old decided it was time to launch his own. The result, the 36-seater Yo Yo Caf Bar, is due to open in mid March. Mr Dunn said: "I have been in the hospitality industry for 24 years, and not only have I lived and worked in a number of cities but I have picked up a lot of ideas, some of which will be used in this concept.
"Little Germany is a thriving business centre in the heart of Bradford with around 3,000 people working in the area, but at the moment they go to the city centre to sit down for a cappuccino or glass of wine and some food.
"This is an exciting project and it will be nice to use my food and beverage experience along with my marketing skills to see if I can conjure up a recipe for success - I know my clients will be watching!"
Mr Dunn plans to head up the new business himself, with a head chef in charge of a seven-strong workforce.
Yo Yo's aims to provide meals like roast salmon and filled savoury croissants during the week, and will open at weekends to provide full buffet services for private, corporate events.
Mr Dunn expects demand to rapidly outstrip supply, and is in the process of registering the restaurant name as a trademark in anticipation of opening a second city centre location soon.
