The Keighley News has given Harry Sharp a very special 67th birthday present.
Harry is the latest KN Loyalty Card winner, and takes away a rollover cheque for £450.
The pensioner, who lives in Ivy Bank Lane, Haworth, said: "I was really surprised to hear I had won. It's the first time I've ever won anything like this."
Harry's number came up in the last issue of the Loyalty Card promotion in 2001. And the timing could not have been better as Wednesday was Harry's 67th birthday.
As well as a celebratory meal at Bingley's JD Wetherspoons pub, he plans to spend his winnings on a short break.
Harry said: "We might go away for four or five nights -- maybe to the south coast."
His win has proved that loyalty to the Keighley News really does pay off. He said that throughout their married life he and Ivy have bought the newspaper.
Harry, who worked on Keighley buses and for a local engineering company, has been married to Ivy for 45 years. The couple have two sons, a daughter, a grand daughter and a grandson.
Keighley News editor Malcolm Hoddy said: " What a wonderful way to start a new year for Harry, his wife and family.
" Such promotions are a great way for us to reward and recognise the loyalty of our readers."
