The annual Boxing Day Chevin Chase staged by AireCentre Pacers over a route round Guiseley and Otley Chevin, attracted around 850 runners and was won by Otley AC's Ian Fisher by a 15-yard margin from Bingley Harrier John Taylor.
Third was Mike Burrett, of Leeds City. The first woman home was Carol Humphrey, of Harrogate Harriers.
Big crowds turned out on a frosty morning to watch the race, which takes place high above Otley. This year's route was changed slightly to avoid boggy areas.
In last year's Chevin Chase all the Otley Athletic Club entries were beaten by someone in a feathered costume, so there was a good turnout from the fast lads this year, keen to 'race the duck'.
The bird failed to show up but in its place was a very quick Christmas Pud. Underneath the fancy dress was world class triathlete Richard Allen from Otley.
Ian Fisher maintained Otley pride and won the race outright but the rest got their desserts as they failed to keep up with the pudding. Andrew Robertshaw was closest with a very good run to finish in seventh place in 41.15, followed by Neil Cayton in about 43 minutes.
There was good packing from Otley runners further back in the field with Andrew Willis, Phil Robinson, Tom Hannah, Terry Flynn, Steve Haywood, Dave Hainsworth and Mike Barton all finishing between 55 and 58 minutes.
There were over 30 Ilkley Harriers amongst the 850 plus runners. Andy Wade wasn't far behind, about 26th in 43.53; then in approximate order were: Kevin McMullan; Mike Baldwin; Clive Smith in 46.30; Neil Chapman setting a PB of 48.38; Dave Matthews incognito; Alison Weston; Julie Harvey 52.36; Suzanne Akeroyd; Alison Crane 55.36; Richard Gray 57.07; Keith Wood 56.30; Peter Cook 56.49.
Andy Webster 56.50; Dave Ibbotson; Phil Chappell 54.45; Rob Pawson; Bernie Connor 59.30; Steve Cockerham; Richard Midgeley; Judith Smart 62.15; Andy Wiggans; Shirley Wood 62.33; Jill Cook 64.19.
Ronnie Shackleton; Claudia Barjolin; Amanda Parnaby; Andy Sarah and his dog Landlord 68mins; Brian Sweet 72m; Mandy Chapman 76m; and Jane Leather.
