Dougie Lampkin won his first and last trial in Britain this year when he rode his Radson Montesa to victory in the Bradford Motor Club trial at Howden Wood, Silsden, on Boxing Day.
He beat Scorpa importer Martin Crosswaite and G.P. Beta team rider Ben Hemingway.
" I was beaten by one mark last year by Graham Jarvis and this is my first ride in England ecause of the foot and mouth epidemic ," dougie said.
"The win warms me up for Sheffield Arena on Saturday," Dougie said.
The trial attracted 12 national or international class riders, including all the Lampkin family, John, Harry, James and Dougie as well as cousins Dan and Ben Hemingway and Haworth's Wayne Braybrook, winner of the last Scott Trial, and new Dirt Bike Rider magazine trials machine tester Dan Clark.
Unofficial national Class B Youth champion James Dabill won the Youth class from Guiseley's Edward McIntosh.
Martin Crosswaite won the Darwen MC trial at Read, near Burnley from Wayne Baybrook and Dan Clark on Thursday but the Bingley rider's hopes of a double were foiled by GP Beta rider Ian Austermuhle who won the Yeadon & Guiseley M.C. trial at Dob Park on Friday.
The Dob Park trial was the major post-Xmas contest in the county and featured over one hundred competitors from most parts of the north, with David Henley travelling from Dorset to compete.
Connonley's Graham Abbey took the Clubman category by one mark from James Percival and Ray Sharp.
