Jamie Lawrence is the king of the Reggae Boyz after being crowned Jamaica's footballer of the year.
The City midfielder emerged top of a five-man shortlist voted for by Jamaican supporters.
Lawrence, who will fly out to Kingston to receive the award, said: "I've had a very difficult last 12 months but winning this makes up for everything. I'll dedicate it to my dad who died and my mum who I'll make sure will be at the ceremony, though my speech will be short and sweet!"
Lawrence hopes to step up his comeback from a groin injury by playing for the reserves at Bolton tomorrow.
He said: "I've been training for a little while and I'm ready to step it up."
