A feast of fresh fungi could soon be on offer at Keighley's new farmers' market shop.
A mushroom grower from Elslack contacted the volunteer-run shop in Lawkholme Lane after reading about its opening in the Keighley News.
He plans to supply both fresh mushrooms as well as soups and breaded garlic mushrooms made by his wife.
The B-Fit charity, which runs the shop, hopes the grower -- as well as other local food producers -- will also make regular appearances to chat with customers about his wares.
B-Fit co-ordinator Carolyn Lowing wants to hear from volunteers able to help staff the shop so opening hours can be extended to Saturdays.
The eventual aim is to find funding for separate premises so the shop can expand, providing meats and cheese, as well as the present fruit and vegetables.
B-Fit opened the shop as part of its work in helping hard-pressed farmers find new sources of income.
The shop is in the Keighley Healthy Living Network premises, and is open every Friday from 10.30am-2.30pm. Carolyn can be contacted on 01535 670950.
