Flood victims from Keighley and South Craven are being invited to take part in an on-line debate which could shape future Parliamentary policy.

The Hansard Society is appealing for people from flood risk areas, and professionals involved in flood management, to participate in the month-long discussion.

The venture -- floodforum.net -- aims to help Parliament evaluate what action is needed to prevent and manage inland flooding.

It will be launched on-line on January 21.

The Hansard Society, an independent organisation promoting effective Parliamentary democracy, has been commissioned by the UK Parliament's Office of Science and Technology to conduct the discussion.

Project co-ordinator Beccy Earnshaw said: "We want to hear from anyone who has experience of flooding or whose home is at risk. The Office of Science and Technology is keen to receive your ideas and opinions on flood prevention and management in your area.

"You can join in anytime during the month and you don't need to be a computer expert. We supply easy-to-follow instructions and let you know where the nearest Internet access points are in your area."
