Light has been shed on the origins of a historic painting of Keighley bus station featured in last week's Keighley News.
Cowling woman Betty Hardaker says the picture of a 1947 scene was by Pudsey art teacher Fred Jones.
He probably sat on top of the former Willy Dobson health food shop - near the present-day Bradford and Bingley bank - to capture the image on canvas.
Fred was a friend of Betty's father-in-law, Bingley artist James Hardaker, and her sister-in-law still has some of his prints.
Several prints of the Keighley bus station painting appear to be in circulation, in addition to the one we pictured last week which hangs in the office of Town Centre Manager Sandra Parnham .
One was bought by Oakworth woman Eileen Langthorne seven years ago for her husband Peter's 50th birthday.
She bought the highly-detailed print from Nick and Len's coffee bar, where it had been hanging, but nobody there knew its origins.
Mrs Hardaker says Fred was a well-known local painter who trained at the Royal Academy and exhibited around the district.
Anyone else who has information about the painting, or Fred, should phone David Knights at the Keighley News, on 01535 606611.
