Life on Bradford's Buttershaw estate was immortalised in the hit British film Rita, Sue and Bob Too during the 1980s.
The gritty comedy was based on two plays set on the notorious estate and written by former Keighley woman Andrea Dunbar, who subsequently died.
The original play Rita, Sue and Bob Too is being revived this month at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds.
It is part of a double bill also featuring A State Affair, written by Robin Soans after research in Buttershaw in 2000.
The original play was written in 1982 when Dunbar, now dead, was just 18, and was regarded by reviewers as perfectly capturing the mood of the early Thatcher years.
The new play aims to tell the stories and chronicle the experiences of people living on the breadline during the Blair years.
The plays are performed from Monday until February 2. Book tickets for the double bill at Keighley Information Centre or phone 01274 752000.
