RICHARD ROBINSON is returning to captain Keighley Cricket Club in their 2002 campaign after several successful seasons with Baildon.
Richard, a batsman and spin bowler, played with the Baildon side which were runners-up in the first division of the Bradford League last season and is expected to add experience to the young Keighley team.
The club's strength in depth is also due to be bolstered by Paul Wilkinson who is joining the Lawkholme Lane side from Long Lee.
"There could be a number of other players joining the club, so we are looking forward to a good season ahead," said secretary Michael Parker.
The club starts its season on April 20 with an away game at Brighouse. Because of a return to one-section in Division Two they will not play all clubs home and away, but will meet relegated local rivals Bradford and Bingley at Lawkholme.
They will also have to be on top early season form when they travel to Elland in the first round of the Heavy Woollen Cup after reaching the last eight of the competition last year.
In their cup competition the second team, which is to be captained by Richard's brother Jamie Robinson, are at home to East Ardsley from the Wakefield area.
The club, which has seen a dramatic change in fortunes in recent years, will also be fielding teams at Under-17, Under-15 and Under-13 level. Winter nets are to take place at Bingley Grammar School starting next month.
