Liversedge 2, Glapwell 2 - Liversedge dropped a place in the Northern Counties East Premier Division despite taking a draw from a dour clash with Glapwell at Clayborn.
Victories for Glasshoughton Welfare and Brodsworth left Sedge, who could have drawn level on 21 points with a victory over 14th-placed Glapwell, just above the relegation trap-door.
The home side got off to a perfect start, scoring in the fourth minute, but manager Wayne Bruce claimed that lulled them into a false sense of security.
"We started well and, if anything, we scored too early. From then on we took our foot off, sat back and it was all downhill from there," said the boss.
"It was a poor game, typical of the poor conditions and we looked like a we hadn't played for three weeks. They had played in midweek and did look that bit sharper than us.
"We were rusty, but we are off and running again now and we have said to the lads that we have to start the season again from here. We have got leaders Alfreton Town this week so we have to get back quickly."
Paul Hand began the move for the first goal when his ball from halfway invited Adam Goldthorpe into space behind the defender. Goldthorpe hit a first-time volley across the six-yard box and Matt Flynn side-footed home.
Glapwell hit back midway through the half when a Goldthorpe slice fell kindly for the visitors and Steve Dillon turned a shot past Paddy Kerr.
Sedge were back in front before the break. Two minutes into injury time, Matt Sykes met Goldthorpe's cross with a diving header from ten yards.
Sedge should have made the game safe in the 50th minute when Goldthorpe clipped the bar with a volley from a Matt Fahey free kick. They were to rue the wastefulness when Dillon sprung the offside trap to race through and draw Kerr off his line before slotting home.
