YOUNG people can now go on-line to apply for a Bramhope youth trust grant and say what facilities they want in the village.
Bramhope Youth Development Trust has launched its own website in a bid to capture the interest of eight to 17-year-olds in the community.
The Trust can provide grants for village youth groups, and is working with newly-formed group Action Youth, to look at the possibility of setting up a meeting place for Bramhope's young people.
As well as giving information on the Trust's background and objectives, groups will be able to use an on-line application form to apply for a grant.
The website also features a comments page, asking for visitors' views on the website, and on the type of facilities young people want in Bramhope.
Trust chairman Geoff Mills said all of the Trust's management team can be accessed by e-mail from the site, giving young people a direct link to come forward with their ideas.
Mr Mills hopes children at Bramhope Primary School will be able to use the website as part of their lessons. He said: "With greater IT involvement in their new computer suite, this is the ideal opportunity to use our website in the classroom environment."
Posters advertising the website have gone up on village notice boards, and in shop windows. The Bramhope Youth Development Trust website can be found at www.bydt.org.uk.
