Otley RUFC's Under-18 hooker Ben Steel has achieved the highest honour by being selected for the England Under-18 Clubs squad.
The Prince Henry's Grammar School boy took part in the delayed Divisional Festival at Castlecroft on Friday and was later included, along with two other players from the county, in a squad which will face Scotland on March 17 at Penrith RUFC.
Ben will then have the honour of representing his country in the county of his birth as England take part in the Four Home Nations Tournament to be held in West Yorkshire at the end of March.
Ben suffered injury at the start of the season and did not represent Yorkshire unlike three of his Otley colleagues but previous form allowed him to go forward to the North Division squad which took part in the tournament last week.
The other members of the England squad from Yorkshire are Wheatley Hills' fly-half Craig Barker and back row forward Matthew Challinor, also from the south of the county, who plays for the Dinnington Club.
Harrogate's Chris Hallam, a back row forward, is named as a non-travelling reserve.
