West Bowling faced a desperate struggle against a lively Eccles outfit when they conceded a converted try straight from the kick-off in the National Conference Division One.
Wingman Lee Innes pulled back a penalty, but Eccles soon replied when Bowling infrin-ged under their posts.
A raking 40-20 kick put Eccles in the Bowling 25 and, from a set move, second-row Jason Viller came back on the inside to score. Dean Pickup added the extras.
Bowling full back Shaun Tordoff left the fray with a shoulder injury, but the introduction of substitute Shaun Fallon brought immediate results. He produced a perfect pass to send man-of-the-match Simon Owen on a blistering run to the line to close the half at 14-6.
After the break, Bowling's Martin Tordoff gave winger Carl Harrison a chance in the corner.
Then quick-witted Fallon spotted a gap to touch down near the uprights.
With a minute left on the clock, Owen banged over his first drop goal to win the game 19-14.
Hull Dockers made better use of the wind and took the spoils at Dudley Hill's Parry Lane.
Hill started with the wind behind them and opened the scoring with a penalty by Tony Williams.
But nine minutes into the game Hull scored the first try of the day through Andrew Stephenson.
Hill replied after a clever kick put Alex Dickinson over in the corner.
Hill were getting on top and Chris Robinson finished a good move.
Then a Paul Robinson try, converted by Chris Stephen-son, put Hill in the lead at half- time 12-10.
The second half started with three quick tries from Hull Dockers through Jason Vassilakopolus, Chris Stephenson and Andrew Stephenson's second. One conversion by Chris Stephenson made the score 24-12.
Dudley Hill replied through Robinson's second try, but Dockers hit back immediately through winger Will Young.
Two tries in the last nine minutes from Hill by Richard Bingley and Lewis Evans, one converted by Williams, brought the score within two points.
But a last-minute penalty by Chris Stephenson made the final score 30-26 to Hull Dockers.
Keighley Albion put in a much-improved performance, but errors and penalties cost them their game against Castleford Panthers in Divi-sion Two.
They trailed 6-2 at the break, their only first-half score being a Kris Kirk penalty, and after the break they soon found themselves lagging 16-2 behind.
However, Albion fought their way back with a well-taken Adam Lilley try, converted by Kirk.
Then Panthers scored a breakaway try before Albion could score the touchdown of the game - a lovely 30-metre break by Kirk finished off by Andy Bowness. Two late tries to the home side secured them victory by 30-12.
