Robbie Blake was today expected to complete his £1m switch to Burnley.
City's top scorer was meeting with Clarets chairman Barry Kilby to put the seal on a transfer that could rise by a further £250,000 if the club then win promotion.
Blake is currently sidelined by a stomach muscle injury which will take another week to heal. But he could be in line for an early reunion with the Bantams.
The trip to Burnley, called off on New Year's Day because of a frozen pitch, has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 19.
It means City will face three away trips in a week with the Turf Moor clash sandwiched between visits to Wolves and Gillingham.
Blake, who has hit 12 goals this season, could make his Burnley debut at home to West Brom a week on Sunday.
