A landlady is having closed-circuit television installed in her pub following a ram raid in which a cash machine was attached to a Range Rover and dragged out of the building.
Susan Dawson, 29, was on holiday when the raiders struck at the New Inn Geordie Pride in Roberttown Lane, Roberttown, Liversedge, in the early hours of Friday.
Ms Dawson, who lives at the pub, missed the raiders by chance. She says she is determined to stay in her home but is stepping up security.
The raid took place at around 1.15am and she was due to return home at 1.30am. But a delayed flight meant she arrived home at 3am to be greeted with the mess left by the raiders.
"There was plastic everywhere from the machine, the carpet inside was torn where it had been dragged, and there is an axe mark in the wall," she said.
" I'm just glad I wasn't here because my bedroom is above the door and I wouldn't have wanted to confront them. This is a lovely pub to run and I do feel safe here, but CCTV might just deter someone who is thinking about breaking in or causing trouble.
"It has made me nervous, but I know logically they were just after the one thing and they got that.
"I am installing the CCTV for my own personal safety because this incident has made me aware of how vulnerable I am."
During the attack, the gang of three men, all wearing black balaclavas, demolished the front doors by ramming them with a blue Range Rover. They used axes to break through an inner door.
The raiders then attached a chain to the cash machine, which was bolted to the floor.
Using the Range Rover, they dragged the machine outside where the cash box, containing about £230, was taken from inside.
"I can fill the machine every day, but it is not worth having it full," said Ms Dawson.
"I would have loved to have seen their faces when they opened the cash box and realised how little there was in it after all that."
She thought cash-points in pubs were a good idea, but would not be replacing the stolen one.
DC Frank Wood, of Dewsbury CID, said the Range Rover was found in Bradford and is undergoing forensic analysis.
Another vehicle, possibly a Japanese hatchback car, is also believed to have been used.
