A daredevil stuntman has failed in his attempt to take Bingley's best-known undies where they have never been before - because of high force gales.
Curtis Rivers was due to attempt a world record-breaking parachute jump from a hot air balloon in sub-zero temperatures on Sunday.
The 31-year-old, who was "killed" five times by Pierce Brosnan in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, was all set for the triple attempt wearing thermal "double force" undergarments supplied by Damart.
But after severe weather warnings from the meteorological office, the event dubbed Operation Hawk had to be postponed at the last minute.
Jim Crosbie, business development manager at Damart's headquarters in Lime Street, said: "Curtis was very disappointed but it would have been dangerous if we had gone ahead."
Now the team involved in the stunt is on 18-hour standby and hopes to attempt it in the next few days.
Curtis will try to break three records by:
Flying in a parachute from higher than anyone before - the record now is 31,000 feet;
Making the world's highest static line parachute jump from a hot air balloon - over 26,000 ft;
Flying with a parachute for more than 40 minutes, a record unbroken for 45 years.
The event will raise funds for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
