Heatstroke
Meet Sam and Fay. They've been married for years, he's just been demoted, and their Spanish villa holiday is meant to revitalise their lives.
Meet Howard. He's a washed-out actor trying to impress his younger mistress Dodie.
And finally, meet Mad Dog Moon and Raynor. One is a psychotic criminal, the other a cop pursuing him.
Both of them are at the villa to retrieve a bag of cash stolen from an English bank but mislaid at Alicante airport.
And the two couples will do anything to hold on to the half a million pounds in used banknotes they've accidentally picked up.
In the latest production from Keighley Playhouse, all six characters have secrets and all six know what they want to do with the cash.
The result is a merry-go-round of bag switching, blackmail, seduction and attempted murder.
The chuckles come thick and fast over the two hours of this thoroughly entertaining comedy from the pen of Rising Damp creator Eric Chappell.
The characters are stereotypical but their full comic potential is realised by director David Hardman and his experienced cast.
Mike Boothroyd, Patricia Henney, John Cohen and Barbara Boothroyd give memorable performances in the main roles, and Edward Cowen and Leigh Bowman give solid support.
Undemanding but very funny, Heatstroke is at the Playhouse on Devonshire Street tonight and tomorrow at 7.30pm.
