Key priorities for the proposed Kirklees Community Strategy are detailed in a consultation document which will give community organisations in the Spen Valley another chance to have their say.
The strategy - a partnership blueprint - will guide policies, priorities and services in the district for the next ten years. Copies of the document will be distributed to key public places and to public, private, voluntary and community organisations in Kirklees.
Council leader Councillor Kath Pinnock, who also chairs the multi-agency Kirklees Partnership, urged community groups to use the six-week consultation period as an opportunity to tell the council and its partners what they think priorities should be.
The Council and the Kirklees Partnership are drawing up the strategy, which has already been subject of extensive consultations in its preparation.
"What we will be doing over the next six weeks will be taking the proposed strategy out to community organisations to give them the chance to comment on what they think about the priorities we have highlighted," Coun Pinnock said.
"The Community Strategy will be of crucial importance in guiding the policies and priorities of the council and its partners in the years ahead.
"It is important we get it right, and that it is a strategy based on priorities that are important to our communities, and is supported across Kirklees."
