A WINTER cricket competition has been launched at Greenhead School as part of Keighley Asian Sports Association's drive to cut crime.
Sunday sports sessions at the school are designed to get young people off the streets and one of the first events is a six-a-side cricket league which will run for the next 10 weeks.
Organisers are also planning to launch an indoor soccer tournament alongside other sports including badminton and table tennis.
Results of the first week's cricket games are: KYM 'A' 162, Crown & Spice 110; KYM 'B' 106, Keighley Young Stars 97; Nafees 134, Azad 104.
The sports sessions are open to all and from this week will be held from 2pm to 6pm.
