Keighley 2nd 35
West Park Bramhope 2nd 0
The second string clocked up their tenth consecutive win, but West Park put up little fight.
The settled Keighley squad of about 20 players are playing well together no matter who is in the team and are playing with real spirit.
At half time Keighley had only managed to score 22 points, but a long conversion was held between the two captains and the referee.
Bramhope's captain wanted the referee to call off the game as he thought they were just not good enough, but the referee ruled the game should continue.
The points in the first half came from a well worked try by Richard Cavender giving a clever pass to Chris Watts coming into mid-field from the wing to cross unopposed. Two further tries came from back row forwards Morgan Bailey returning form injury and Peter Schofield.
The fourth try scored by Neil Scott was created by a run out of defence by Carl Smith who was well supported by Nick Wright.
The request to call the game off had an adverse effect on both sides. Keighley went into relax mood, and Bramhope seemed to throw caution to the wind. After ten minutes Keighley switched up a gear and the points started to come at regular intervals. Good handling by the backs gave debutante Danny Horne the opportunity to dummy his way over. The next try came when Kevin Young latched on to the final pass after a strong run by Smith. Cavender converted.
Nick Wright then scored the first of his two tries, one he created himself and the other again after good work by Smith. The final try came from a push over at a scrum after sustained pressure which was claimed by Bailey.
Cavender only managed to convert four of the nine triesin the strong wind.
