A woman who chased robbers from a jeweller's shop was nearly knocked down when one of them drove a car at her.
Cynthia Sheldon, who works in Morley Jewellers, Heckmondwike, had to jump out of the way to avoid the car.
A scruffy man entered the shop in Market Place at 4.40pm on Thursday and snatched a jewellery pad with 11 nine-carat gold bracelets on it from Ms Sheldon.
An accomplice aged between 18 and 22 waited at the door and held it open as the raider - who was nursing a black eye which was turning yellow - fled with £1,000 worth of bracelets.
The pair ran along Croft Street to a car park used by market traders behind Morrisons supermarket, knoc-king an elderly woman to the ground as they went. They split up as they reached the car park and one got into a beige or gold Ford Fiesta, registration A392 MKH - and reversed it towards her.
The man with the black eye smelt of alcohol and dirt. He was between 35 and 40, of medium build, with short, straggly, greasy hair.
Witnesses should contact PC Russell at Dewsbury police on (01924) 431059.
