Former Bradford City stars Stephen Torpey and Peter Beagrie led the demolition of relegation-haunted Halifax Town.
The Shaymen remain rooted to the foot of the Third Division after taking a savaging at the hands of promotion-chasing Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.
Martin Carruthers terrorised the Town defence early on and set up the opener in the 19th minute. He flicked on Beagrie's cross from the left giving Stuart Thom an easy chance to beat Richardson from eight yards.
Town should have equalised two minutes later but Robert Herbert scooped a close-range shot over from a Steve Kerrigan cross.
Halifax found themselves two down in the 23rd minute from another Beagrie cross, Torpey heading downwards and forcing the ball home through Richardson's hands.
Herbert had another opportunity to open Halifax's account in the 31st minute but Nathan Stanton got back to block his shot and Peter Wright hammered a left-foot volley goalwards soon after but Tom Evans saved.
Gary Jones had the ball in the net for Halifax in the 43rd minute but the effort was disallowed after the referee spotted a handball and Kerrigan missed a glorious chance.
Herbert put him clear down the middle but the out-of-form striker ballooned over the top from 12 yards in first-half injury time.
Beagrie did everything but score after a jinking run down the left eight minutes after the break, while at the other end Wright drifted in before firing a 20-yard effort just wide.
Robert Herbert also went close for Halifax after good work from subs Jamie Wood and Ian Fitzpatrick but Scunthorpe wrapped it up with two goals in the last seven minutes.
Alex Calvo-Garcia made it 3-0 and Torpey bagged his second after Richardson had only been able to parry a Brian Quailey cross.
