The Bulls will take code converter Henry Paul back, but they aren't holding their breath.

As revealed in Saturday's Telegraph & Argus, the former Kiwi international is having problems with the coaching at Gloucester and isn't making the progress he was hoping to.

Bradford chairman Chris Caisley today said the door was always open for his former player.

"Of course we would have him back if he wanted to come," said Caisley, who has seen the £250,000-a-year convert play on television.

"Henry is a quality rugby player irrespective of which game he is playing. I don't think he is getting enough of the ball, but I am sure he will make it in union.

"I believe he is contracted to England rugby union, so we don't expect to see him return."

Paul was axed from last Friday's Parker Pen Shield game against Ebbw Vale and was only picked for the England second-string squad.

Paul was full of praise for the coaching methods employed by the Bulls, describing them as "perfect".

He said that the training at Gloucester, which lacked video analysis and other technical advances, was a step down from what he was used to.
