Stand-in goalkeeper Carl Muggleton wants to pick up the perfect "going away" present - a rare clean sheet.

Muggleton's month on loan with the Bantams runs out after the Preston game tonight. And he would love to sign off by blanking out David Moyes' visitors.

Gary Walsh is pushing for a recall from a thigh injury and City are hoping he will be ready for Saturday's trip to lowly Grimsby.

Muggleton knows he could be playing his final game in a City shirt tonight - and is determined to go out on a high.

He said: "It would be nice to finish on a clean sheet because it's well overdue.

"That's what everybody is striving for although we'll take the three points first. The clean sheet would be a bonus.

"I don't know what's happening yet. I'll just turn up to play the game and see what the manager says afterwards.

"Walshy has been training the last few days and easing himself back into it. So I'll see where that leaves me.

"But when you go anywhere on loan, you're just there to fill a gap. I just hope I've done enough to impress here or at somewhere else.

"I've had a chance to play First Division football, people see you are about again and it's a good opportunity. Hopefully something will come of it."

City are looking to extend their mini unbeaten-run to three games and Muggleton has noticed the upturn in morale in the dressing room.

"It was a great comeback at Barnsley and showed a lot of character. You can see the confidence returning and hopefully that will shine through for the rest of the season.

"Since the new manager came in, we've picked up three points, got a great comeback from 3-1 down and now we just want to keep the ball rolling.

"Preston's form is a bit similar to ourselves, but the onus will be on us as the home team and I don't see why we can't keep our decent run going.

"I know it's an old cliche, but we've got to make our home ground a fortress and get teams scared about coming here.

"Winning our last home match against Portsmouth took some of the pressure off us and now we need to build on that with another good result."

City's last clean sheet dates back to Walsall on November 17. But Muggleton is still waiting for his blank of the season, having previously failed to keep the opposition out in seven games for Cheltenham.
