Bradford Metro Liberal Association has decided to use only recycled paper for its correspondence and meetings agenda - but not as a gimmick. Coun. Alan Bagshaw, chairman, told members the finance committee had taken the decision for the purely commonsense reason that recycled paper obtained from the Friends of the Earth organisation was less than half the usual price.

On Monday afternoon ten snowploughs were out in Bradford from 3pm to 5pm, fifteen were out from 5pm to 10pm, and nine were out all night said Mr S. G. Wardley, Bradford City Engineer, yesterday. They dealt with a total of 75 miles of main roads, and on Tuesday 11 snowploughs were out all day dealing with main and secondary roads. Altogether a total of 554 tons of ashes and salt were spread. On average 40 vehicles were used. No casual labour was employed.
